  1. The new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, known as the USMCA, came into effect on July 1, 2020.<\/li>\n
  2. This treaty is the outcome of negotiations that began back in 2017 and came to a successful conclusion in November 2018, with the signatures of the heads of state of the three countries involved, and the closure of the ratification process by all three in 2020.<\/li>\n
  3. The USMCA is a state-of-the-art treaty that deals with issues designed to boost the economies of the three participating countries. The treaty’s goal is to offer certainty to the three countries and their investors, while providing a key legal framework across sectors.<\/li>\n
  4. A member of the academic sector, Gisela Bol\u00edvar Villag\u00f3mez was actively involved in USMCA negotiations. Additionally, several analytical magazines have published her thoughts on said negotiations and the implications of the restructuring of North America and treaty implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
